Composer Teisutis Makačinas, who celebrates his 85th birthday this year, says he still looks at the sky and stars and is happy about it. The composer, who constantly follows the pulse of new music as a listener, believes that inspiration alone is not enough for creativity - musical masterpieces are born only through a lot of and consistent work. This approach to creativity is also reflected in T. Makačina's own creative repertoire, which is distinguished by an abundance of genres and styles. Although the listener is most familiar with the songs of T. Makačinas, such as "The wind told me", "Boys", "Vēl namo, vēl namo", the bars of the composer's academic work are also very wide and interesting. The composer's searches and discoveries in the field of academic music will be revealed by a whole series of pieces for violin and piano. This time, the talent of the creator of popular melodies will be heard in the form of chamber music - suites for violin, saxophone and piano - as if improvisations based on the motifs of his popular songs pulled from the margins of creativity.T. Makačina's music played in the project, in the step of various dances, captivates with its melodiousness, sharp rhythmicity, surprising fresh harmonic colors and bold polyphony. Sometimes the plays exude a bright nostalgia for the Renaissance or Baroque times, which seems to be "swept away" by the crazy Valuiki humor. They always sound professional and invite the listener to dive into a graceful whirlwind of dance. The concert program will be presented by saxophone virtuoso Petras Vyšniauskas, violinist I. Klusaitė, pianists Goda Stanionytė and Mykolas Bazaras.Teisutis Makačinas, who will participate in the concert, will be interviewed and the program will be moderated by composer Zita Bružaitė.The concert program will feature the lesser-known chamber music of T. Makačinas, the idea of which was born during a personal acquaintance of the composer and project initiator, violinist Ilona Klusaitė, at one of the festivals in Birštonas. I. Klusaitė says that it all started with a few pieces for violin and piano. The composer liked the idea of this collaboration so much that he started editing and transcribing his old works. And they, having acquired a new form, turned into not only a concert program, but also became the currently recorded CD "Teisutis Makačinas. Dance step. By Dancing Step".The project is supported by: Lithuanian Culture Council, AGATA, LATGA, Kaunas Juozas Gruodis Conservatory.Project partners: Lithuanian Composers' Union, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Contemporary Music Festival "Iš arti", Kaunas Philharmonic, Klaipėda Concert Hall, Vilnius Concert Hall "Organum", Sound Recording Studio "Mama".The project is organized by the Chamber Music Support Fund.
