The International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival, which started in 2013 in Palanga, and later in Vilnius, and has become a beautiful continuing tradition, annually presents to the public dozens of events and innovative projects contributing to the promotion of the name of M. K. Čiurlionis, and the meaningfulness of his work. The most prominent personalities of the music world from the USA, France, Germany, Israel and other countries, choirs, orchestras, ballet, concert programmes of the winners of the International M. K. Čiurlionis Competition, winners of the National Prize, and the most famous Lithuanian expatriates are presented to the public, and others. Every year, dozens of young soloists from different regions of Lithuania are given the opportunity to perform in concerts. The Festival also inspires the birth of new projects - a ballet composition based on the music of M. K. Čiurlionis "The Tale of Kings", a world music project "Cosmic Čiurlionis", a mono-programme "Čiurlionis Otherwise", an art and music performance based on the music of M. K. Čiurlionis, and others. The public is presented with programmes and lectures by Professor Vytautas Landsbergis, interpretations of works by M. K. Čiurlionis by foreign artists, transcriptions of works by M. K. Čiurlionis. In addition to the festivals in Palanga and Vilnius, there are intermediate festival events in various Lithuanian cities, as well as in foreign countries associated with M. K. Čiurlionis.
