The plot of the operetta is based on a crucial event - a ball in Savoy. Thirsty for sensational and scandalous news, representatives of the nobility and bohemians come to Nice once a year. On the occasion of this event, the editorial office of the local newspaper awards a prize - an expensive painting - for the biggest sensation of the Savoy Ball.
Who will she have this time?
Madeleine, who will announce that she, the Marquise de Fobla, niece of the Cardinal, cousin of the President of the Chamber, wife of the Marquis Aristide, has just cheated on her husband?
Or Deise, who came from America to pretend to be the famous hit composer Józe Pasodoblis and teach the guests of the ball to dance a new fashionable dance - "Kangaroo"?
This is not the first production of this work on the stage of Kaunas, the creators of the play do not plan to deviate too much from the original work, but they promise a lot of connections with the present, especially since the plot of the operetta is grateful for this, because it talks about the eternal vicissitudes of the relationship between a man and a woman - the shadows of the past, the intrigues of love , tests of loyalty.
This operetta was staged for the first time in the Kaunas State Music Theater in 1990: director Valius Staknys, conductor Stanislovas Čepinskis, artist Eldar Renteris (Estonia), choreographers Heino Asalu and Jelena Kõlar from Estonia.
