Founded in 1993, the members of the group were united by their respect for the tradition of painting, their awareness of their own cultural identity and the idea of connecting modernity. The artists took their name and traditions from the 1939 (note how nicely the numbers "play") "Individualists" section, which united prominent artists of that time - the Arsinians and their followers, who laid the foundations of modernism for the national Lithuanian art. Artists of different ages are united by their loyalty to the art of colour, to the continuity of the Lithuanian school of painting, their indifference to the culture of their country, their ethnic roots, and the union of inherited traditions with contemporary art. "The Individualists avoid shocking, heavily deformed artistic forms in their work. They prefer to search for harmony, a synthesis of colours, textures and brushstrokes, without forgetting their ancient origins and aesthetic outlook.
