Otomo Yoshihide Special Big Band is a giapponese ensemble of 17 elements of free jazz/electroacustic/speriment improvisation guided by composer, sound producer, turn player and chitar player Otomo Yoshihide. Starting in 2013, the Special Big Band is the last orchestral formation of Yoshihide, which in the last decade Novanta has worked with diverse ensemble instruments and has gradually evolved into his New Jazz Quintet and Ensemble, acclaimed by critics, in an orchestra. The Special Big Band, composed of members of Kin Kon Kan and The Saxophonettes, from the collaboration of long-time Sachiko M e gives fun to the important contemporary jazz musicians, if it was initially joined during the recording sessions of the Amachan sound colony. In December 2013, the “Amachan Special Big Band” is present at the NHK Hall in Tokyo, and has successively published its Amachan Live 2xCD. The band also presented the mini-album Ejanaika Ondo in June 2014. Otomo’s Special Big Band has continued its tour in 2015, with concerts at the Pit Inn in Shinjuku, the Amber Hall in Kuji and the Kuji Autumn Festival Parade. The parrot is released at the Shinjuku Bunka Center in Tokyo, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Pit Inn, and is published as a CD Live At Shinjuku Pit Inn. In 2022, the Special Big Band publishes its fourth album, Stone Stone Stone, following the new Otomo label, Little Stone Records.
