In the exhibition "Those who have gone not to return...", Sigitas Prancuitis combines a collection of assemblages and altarpieces commemorating his colleagues with the works of these artists. Such attention to one's colleagues is rare in the art world. Artists are often immersed in their own creative problems, so such an effort by Sigitas to awaken the memory of his friends, his life and work companions who have passed away is a very honourable gesture. Sigitas Prancuitis, through his works, seems to be continuing the lives of his colleagues, evoking their ideas and sharing his thoughts with them. He gives us the opportunity to reflect on the meaningful and very human synthesis of creativity and memory.
The works for this exhibition have been loaned from the collections of the Angelo Museum, Sigitas Prancuitis, and Ričards Jakutis. The works of Sigitas Prancuičis, Eduards Juchnevičius, Gintaras Martinionis, Aloyzas Toleikis, Vita Žabarauskaitė, Vytautas Tribandis, Vitolis Trušis, Vaclovas Zigmantas and Romanas Vilkauskas are on display. The Šiauliai Art Gallery (Vilniaus g. 245) will be open until 16 February.
