The week after Easter marks the forty-first edition of Resurrexit, a festival that celebrates and welcomes the Resurrection through music.
On Wednesday, the Mass of Peter Vasks will be performed, the festival's 'overture', which will be filled with heightened tension and a sense of concentration and will invite us to await the resurrection. On the second day of St. Peter's Eucharist, the audience will be invited to celebrate the Resurrection.
Sacred music scholars, educators and amateurs will gather for the third time during the festival for the scholarly conference "Religious Music: Art, Science, Practice", and last year's new initiative, the Study Tour, which was born last year. The new Study tour will once again bring young musicians and musicologists from Lithuania and other countries to Šiauliai.
Beginning with soothing classical harmonies and dynamic contemporary compositions, Resurrexit will delight with spectacular events leading up to the grand finale of the Easter week - the closing concert, where the audience will enjoy the spectacular fireworks of the music of Felix Mendelssohn's Bartholdy.
Have a wonderful holiday! Have a meaningful resurrection!
