The project took place in the textile studio "Gijų sodai" of Kaunas Culture Centre and was dedicated to the centenary of Lithuanian statehood. Everyone was invited to join the project. For three years, participants were invited to weave their thoughts and feelings for Lithuania, create their own small tapestries, 950 of which became part of one large work. The mosaic-work consists of many coloured squares, which speak coloured signs and symbols in the overall context of the whole. In the overall large textile work, all the participants' works were composed according to colour and formed the outline of a tree, which is also highly symbolic. Graphic designer Aurėja Jucevičiūtė also contributed to the project by turning some fragments of the mosaic into very Lithuanian symbols-interpretations with their own meaning and significance, highlighting the symbolic motifs of the cross, the rhombus and the sun. The exhibition, together with the tapestry, includes photographs and collages illustrating the project's creative workshops. In 2020, the exhibition will be exhibited for the first time in Kaunas Culture Centre. The Šiauliai History Museum (Aušros al. 47, Šiauliai) will be open until 10 October.
