Event description

The idea of interconnectedness and immersion is discussed in the context of the Italian philosopher Emanuele Coccia. "In his study of plant life, interspecies thinking, he highlighted the symbiotic and metamorphosic processes that take place between all existing species of life." The title of the exhibition symbolically reflects the idea of immersion as a way of understanding the experience of being a plant, as expressed in the book "Plant Life". Coccia suggests imagining it by comparing it to a visit to a nightclub. "The experience of oneself dancing in a club becomes like swimming in the sea, where smells, touches, sounds and light come together. The immediacy of the self and the environment is a way of thinking that provokes the natural sciences, eschewing categories and opening up a new layer of meaning," the abstract states. It is noteworthy that in the exhibition the young generation artists Justė Kuliešaitė and Marija Sučilaitė reflect on this relationship in a multifaceted way. "...moving away and moving closer, creating and recreating, looking with humility and care." It is noticeable that the manifestations and intersections of immersion explored use not only traditional printmaking techniques, but also drawing, textiles and objects. The works reflect childhood memories and rituals, family relationships as well as fear and the pursuit of power, and nature and ecology.
