Internationally acclaimed bandoneon virtuoso ARIEL RAMIREZ (ARGENTINA) returns to the Lithuanian stage in a new acoustic format.
On 11 JULY 11, at the St. Ariel Ramirez and his international tango quintet invite you to a cozy ACOUSTIC TANGO CONCERT on 11 November 11 at the St. John the Baptist Church.
This project is a sensitive encounter with the FEELINGS OF TANGO - the indescribable feeling of love, longing and passion, which is filled with the Argentine tango music performed by Ariel Ramirez, virtuosically extracted with the breath of a bandoneon.
"The bandoneon is my LOVE", says the artist, and he makes sure of it every time he takes the stage. In his hands, the bandoneon takes on deep feelings not found in the score. Ramirez's music and virtuosic talent leave no one indifferent - you want to listen to him again and again. This is constantly confirmed by the audience, who reluctantly let go of the performer, applauding as they stand up and asking for a repeat.
The concert PROGRAMME will take you on a journey back to a time of great change in Buenos Aires, when the traditional tango reigned supreme and a new tango was born at the same time.
Featuring works by Astor Piazzolla, Argentina's most famous composer and bandoneon player, the tango revolutionary, the concert will sensually combine tango, jazz and classical music.
The programme will also feature world classics by other Argentine tango composers, taking you back to the world of Buenos Aires in the last century - the most beautiful golden age of authentic tango.
The acoustic side of this project will allow you to experience the unique and authentic sound of the live Argentine tango.
The programme will be performed by Ariel Ramirez with her own TANGO QUINTET, which she has created according to the typical model of Piazzolla's quintet. It is like a tribute to the authentic sound of the Argentine tango. The Quintet conveys the complete, authentic and rich sound of tango music: sensitive, deep, moving, uplifting, overwhelming the senses and the feelings, dancing passionately among the sounds of Argentine tango.
